Binance Futures will adjust the leverage and margin tiers of the multiple USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contracts on 2022-12-21 12:00 (UTC), 2022-12-23 08:30 (UTC) and 2022-12-23 08:45 (UTC) respectively, as reflected in the tables below.

Existing positions opened before the update will be affected. It is strongly advised to adjust the position and leverage prior to the adjustment in order to avoid any potential liquidation.

Leverage and Margin of USDⓈ-M Futures

Binance uses a sophisticated risk control system and liquidation model to support high leverage trading by adopting the Maintenance Margin model. For the latest updates, please refer to the Leverage & Margin page.

The maximum amount of leverage available depends on the notional value of your position — the larger the position, the lower the leverage. You can adjust the leverage according to your needs, and all position sizes are calculated based on the contract's notional value (USDT or BUSD denominated). Thus, the Initial Margin is determined by the leverage you selected.

Please note that you should first choose your leverage (and fulfill the Initial Margin requirement) before opening positions, or it will be set at 20x by default. The higher the leverage, the smaller the notional size you can open; लिवरेज और मार्जिन अपेक्षाएं the lower the leverage, the higher the notional size you can open.

What is the Maintenance Margin?

The Maintenance Margin is calculated based on your positions at different notional value tiers. This means that the Maintenance Margin is always calculated in the same way, regardless of what leverage you select. Moving from one tier to another will not cause the previous tier to change its leverage. The larger the position, the higher the Maintenance Margin rate.

In most exchanges, the Maintenance Margin is usually half of the Initial Margin. At Binance, however, the Maintenance Margin is only less than half of the लिवरेज और मार्जिन अपेक्षाएं Initial Margin, which is more beneficial to traders.

It is important to note that the Maintenance Margin will directly affect the liquidation price. To avoid auto-deleveraging, it is highly recommended to close your positions before the collateral falls below the Maintenance Margin.

3. I cannot partially close my open position. The error message shows “Order rejected due to order exceeding the maximum allowable quantity at current leverage level”. How to resolve this?

This often happens when there is a trading rules amendment on the leverage and margin tier of the symbol. Please visit the Leverage & Margin page to see the latest maximum leverage.

If you are in the Cross Margin Mode and the maximum leverage of your position is greater than the current maximum leverage, in order to लिवरेज और मार्जिन अपेक्षाएं partially close your position, please reduce the leverage below the current maximum. For example, if the current maximum leverage of a MASKUSDT position in the Cross Margin Mode is 20x and your leverage is 22x, please reduce the leverage to 20x.
